Set in today’s heated immigration debate and polarized political climate, the film examines the US’s currently dysfunctional immigration system through the personal stories of individuals struggling under the constant threat of deportation, the rise of the national student and youth activist movement advocating for passage of the DREAM Act, and the impact of immigration policy and laws on the nation.
“For anyone who proudly believes in the United States as a nation of immigrants, DREAM is a powerful documentary that shows how, now more than ever, the Land of Opportunity may no longer be living up to the ideals that became the bedrock of our collective national identity.”
- Austin Arceo, Coordinator of Communications and Special Projects Hubbard Center for Student Engagement, DePauw University

“Bello’s greatest accomplishment in this well-executed documentary is finding a story that by virtue of not being typical, manages to explain the crude injustice of the American migratory system.”
